SPRING

First of all....Spring time in Washington is the DREAMIEST thing I've ever seen!

Okay, now that that is out of the way, this week was pretty good! The Russian sisters came over and we got to talk with our Russian speaking neighbors! It was so cool! They are such a sweet family! We got to talk with them for a while (well the sisters did...I had no idea what was being said most of the time haha) and the sisters offered to teach English classes to them! Hopefully all will go well with that. They also gave us Russian candies!! OOOHHH BOYYY they were so good!!!!

We also made a new friend (investigator) this week! Her name is Jennifer and she has been taught by missionaries before and loves them and our church! We hope things will continue to progress for her!
I also got to go on exchanges with sister Vivas! She's super awesome and we had a party the whole time! We even got to...get this...EAT WITH MEMBERS! I kid you not! We actually got to take off our masks! It was so crazy! my face felt naked! But it was SO nice to sit down and eat with other people.

We also got to do more service at the dog day care! woot woot! I'll be sure to get a picture of me with all the cute doggo's next time. Right now we are just fixing up her grooming salon.

This weekend is kinda a big deal....ITS GENERAL CONFERENCE WEEKEND! WOOT WOOT! I'm so hyped to get to hear from our living prophet and his apostles! Be sure to watch it this Saturday and Sunday! it's going to be so good! The next few days leading up to conference be thinking of a question. Not just any question, but a question that maybe has been weighing on your mind lately. Take that question into conference with you. I promise that if you pray and truly listen, you will get an answer. It may not be the answer you want and it may not come in the way you want; but it will come. I know it :)
Love yall!

The First Anniversary of my 19th Birthday!

I'm 20 years old today! Crazy. I'm so old lol.

This week was a bit of a slower one but hey that's alright! We tried to stop by our Ukrainian neighbors house with the Russian Sisters! (because the family speaks Russian as well haha)  But, they weren't home :( so we are going to try again tonight! Hopefully they'll be there!

The rest of the week was member lesson and meeting with less actives. One of them owns a dog day care so we got to play with cute dogs for a couple of hours so that was fun!  We also met with some friends (investigators) and they are doing well! We are also trying to "revive" our ward from quarantine so we've started up meetings and are planning activities now that Washington is in phase 3! So, that will keep us busy!

We have planned a lot for this up coming week so stay tuned!  Here is something to ponder on for the next time you take the sacrament.... If Jesus Christ was in your sacrament meeting, what would you do differently?
Anyways, sorry this email wasn't very exciting but, I'm the birthday girl and I do what I want.
Love you all!

Pryvit!!

Pryvit! Pryvit! (Hello! Hello!) What a wild week this one has been! Buckle your seatbelts and get ready for this wild ride!!

This week has been SO nice weather wise! So naturally Sis Eyre and I wanted to eat dinner outside! So we went just outside by our house and enjoyed some yummy dinner. Then, we realized we were locked out of our apartment!! I didn't have my phone or shoes! We laughed at ourselves for a bit and then said a prayer for help and guidance. Then we walked out to the parking lot and there was a guy washing his car. So we went up to him and asked if we could borrow his phone. Turns out he doesn't speak much english! He is from Ukraine and speaks Ukrainian and Russian! After some hand gestures he let us use his phone to contact some people to let us back in our apartment. While we were waiting outside The guy's wife came out and offered us coffee and tea at her house hahaha. We tried to explain that we are missionaries and that we don't drink that and I guess she understood some of that so she offered juice instead! So we got to go to their home and she spoiled us with food! So nice!! We couldn't really talk to them so she just started to teach us some Ukrainian and Russian! It was so cool! So next time we are going to take some Russian speaking sisters with us to say thank you (dyakuyu)!

We also made a new friend (investigator)!! His name is Keivan and he lives in Seattle! He is a muslim but he's exploring Christianity! He's super awesome and asks all the right questions (what's the book of Mormon, who is Jesus to you, things like that haha) it was so awesome! 2 of our friends came to church! I also spoke at church so that was cool haha and sis Eyre sang! She's so good holy cow.

I don't have a ton of time today but I hope each of you can see that GOD IS IN THE DETAILS OF YOUR LIFE!  love you all!

Island Girls

We are officially Island girls! Island view ward has been a party! The elders pretty much left us with nothing to work with so we are pretty much starting from scratch..... BUT IT'S ALL GOOD!  We have a lot of awesome members in the ward that we have been meeting with. We meet with at least 2 families everyday. And get this... The Bishop wants us to meet with EVERY family in the ward. It's going to take a lot of calling but it should be good! There's a lot of part member families in this ward so we are excited to get to know everyone :)

We also MET someone! like IN PERSON! and NOT on facebook!! It was so cool! So right now in my mission we aren't allowed to street contact or tract so pretty much we can only talk to people if they talk to us hahaha. So, Sis Eyre and I decided to go look at parks near us in our lunch hour! We went to one park near our house called Hillcrest park and that was so pretty! We were going to head home after that but then we saw another sign for another park called Little Mountain so we decided to check it out! We drove down that road for a hot minute and weren't seeing a park and we were about to turn around when BAM.... We saw the sign for little mountain park! So we started driving...and driving... and driving.... all the way up this mountain! We were trying to find places to turn around the whole time! Every time I saw a place I could turn around I just was kinda like ehhh they'll be a better place. When we finally found one it turned out we had reached the top. The view was beautiful! So we got out and looked around. While doing so a guy came up to us and asked us if we were working lol. We got to explain that we were missionaries and got to talking with him. He's so cool! We even got his number! It's kinda strange that I've been out for 5 months and that was the first person I've talked to in person about the gospel without a set up appointment...SO COOL THO!

I love being an instrument in the lord's hands everyday!  I love being able to wear my black name tag and teach people about Jesus Christ's restored gospel! I know that Joseph Smith restored the same gospel that Jesus Christ had set up when he was on the Earth. I know that God speaks through His prophets today just like how he did in ancient times. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that God places people in our lives for a reason. I know that God is aware of each of us. And I know that when we reach out to God we can see His hand more prominently in our lives. So do it!

Reach out to him in sincere prayer, scripture study, and service for His children. "when you are in the service of your fellow beings you are only in the service of your God." -Mosiah 2:17
I hope you all have a wonderful week!
Love you!

I'm Training a Celebrity!!

Yes. It's true! My companion was on The Voice! look her up! Her name is Hanna Eyre. Holy cow can this sister sing! She is making me a Hymn arrangement with my two fav hymns, Abide with me and I stand all amazed!! She is already doing so good! I pretty much don't have to train her because she's already so awesome! She is from Orange county CA and she is the most bubbly and sweet thing ever!

On the way to pick her up we hit a snow storm! We could hardly see the road! We ended up missing our exit and were the last ones to pick up the greenies! oops! And, because we are white washing neither of us really knew where we were going and so we got lost... a lot.... but we finally made it... at 9:40 at night hahaha. To a very dirty apartment...thank you elders! (no worries, it's shiny clean now!)

Turns out we actually live 30 minutes outside of our area.....? Our area is on an Island called Camano. We are living in Mount Vernon which is fine because we are right next to the tulip festival which will start in April! Plus the drive to the island is beautiful so no complaints there!

Now we are just trying to get to know the ward and the new friends! So far they have all been awesome! We got to help a family move on Friday so we got to meet lots of ward members there! And church was full of sweet members as well! They are all so sweet! The best part is we are now allowed to have in person lessons!! WOHOO! That made getting to know the ward 10 times more effective and fun!

Mission life is good! Kinda slow right now but sis Eyre got to explain the BOM to a real person for the first time! She did awesome! She's such a pro!

In my studies I was reading in Luke 17 and came across the story of the 10 lepers. Jesus healed all ten lepers and yet only one came back to thank Him. How often do we forget to thank Him? He has blessed more than we even realize! Maybe we cannot fall on Christ's feet and thank Him like the one leper did. But, we can fall on our knees. This week say 10 prayers of gratitude! I promise God will bless you even more for doing so and you will be able to clearly see the blessing and know where they came from!

Love you all! And so does your Father in Heaven and Savior Jesus Christ.

Sister Anderson
