The Sisters Anderson

It was a sad goodbye to East Mont in Everett. I met SO many absolutely AMAZING people and I'll miss them so much!! HOWEVER..... I'M BACK IN MOUNT HARBOR! The most beautiful zone in the mission! The best part is... My companion's name is also Sister Anderson! WE WERE SO SHOCKED THAT THEY ACTUALLY MADE US COMPANIONS! WHATA MEME!

When we were at the mission office to find out who our companions were going to be the assistant to the president, Elder Anderson (LOL), announced it as
"In Bow Hill, Sister Anderson....SQUARED!"
Everyone was SHOOK! It was hilarious. BUT IT GETS CRAZIER! Not only am I a sister training leader.....I'm now also a social media specialist.....!!!!! Crazy! That basically means I help run all of the facebook pages and get to call a lot of the shots to help our pages move forward. I'm excited but also.... scared haha. I'm ready for the challenge tho!

It's so nice to be back in the Mount Harbor zone. I didn't realize how much I missed it! We live about 20 minutes outside of our area, Bow Hill. It covers the city of Bow and Seedro-Woolley.  It's cute and has lots of fields. SO PRETTY. Such a good change from Everett haha.

So far we have just had a lot of meetings and made a lot of calls. We also have an awesome ward that we are working with!
ALSO.... GENERAL CONFERENCE IS COMING UP! I'm so excited! Isn't it amazing that we have a living prophet who receives direct revelation from God to help guide us in this crazy world?? I love president Nelson! Thinking back to 2018...maybe 2019.... when he introduced the Come follow me / at home church program. That was BEFORE the pandemic! Gee, it's like he's a called prophet of God or something. There's so many other things that he and other prophets have done to prepare us for this time. I'm excited to hear what he says at this coming conference because everything that he says is what God wants us to hear and know (D&C 21:5-6) I hope you all can tune in!

I LOVE YOU ALLLL!

ELDER RENLUND AND TRANSFER NEWS

Another transfer bites the dust. This transfer was by FAR the fastest one! Turns out, I'm getting transferred! I don't know where I'm going or who my companion will be until Wednesday. BUT, here are my predictions for next week. I think I'm going to Lynnwood with Sister Bertasso, MY MTC COMP. So I guess you'll find out next week if I'm right!

This week was good! There were a few days for whatever reason we COULD NOT fill during weekly planning. However, when those days came, they filled themselves! QUICK SHOUT OUT TO MY HOME GIRL SYDNIE FAUSETT. In her last email she basically tracted into this golden family and ended up giving them a church tour! That sounded awesome so I wanted to try it out! We ended up texting Peter to see if he would be interested and he responded and said he could be there in an hour! So we ZOOMED over to the church and got everything ready for him. When he showed up he actually brought his friend Antonio and his son Ben! YAY! They loved the tour! They were SUPER excited about the basketball court lol. The chapel was by far my favorite part. I love getting to teach people about the sacrament and it was even better to teach it in there. There was such a strong and tangible spirit. We invited them to church and they said they would be there! Unfortunately, they didn't show up :( But sis Israelsen will get em next time! They are so sweet!

We also did quite a bit of tracting this week. It was kinda hilarious because I've just gotten so used to people saying they aren't interested that I just assumed that no one would ever let us in. Then we knocked on Garths door. He said he was interested and would love to talk more about it! We both just kinda froze. We didn't think we would get that far. So we just set up a time to go back haha oops. Not the move. Sister Israelsen has got it tho! I'll be gone-zo!

The best part of the week was the mission wide conference with Elder and Sister Renlund! It was AMAZING! I was surprised by how hilarious and normal he is. For whatever reason I thought he was going to be some heavenly being but he was so chill and funny haha. We were able to ask him, his wife, and the other visiting authority gospel questions and I was also surprised that he really didn't say anything that was Earth shaking and ground shattering. He simply quoted things from Preach My Gospel, the Book of Mormon, Gospel topic essays, and things from his own life experience. The biggest thing for me that he hit on was that he knew and had a witness of Jesus Christ long before he became an apostle. We can know and have a witness of Him too. We just have to be diligent in seeking and trying to be like Him. It reminds me of my mission scripture, "ask and ye shall receive, knock and it shall be opened unto you. whatsoever you ask the Father in My name, it shall be given you." They talked about A.S.K. or Acquiring Spiritual Knowledge as well. We can all know for ourselves if we sincerely ask. We can have our testimonies strengthened and our faith grown if we ask for help. Sometimes that takes humility. So try it! Pray to have your testimony strengthened, a question answered, or your faith built up. Then, ACT. Do what elder Renlend and his wife do and STUDY! The gospel library app has pretty much every study resource ya need! It's a crazy world out there and the only person who will give us a truthful answer or the strength to endure is God. So please, reach out to him :)))
Anywayyysss I love you all! I know you're Father in Heaven and especially your Savior and redeemer Jesus Christ love you too!

No place I'd rather be

Welcome back to another weekly from yours truly. 1st things 1st. Remember Peter? The guy we took brownies to and invited to the labor day picnic? Keep him in mind.

The wards labor day picnic is out of zone so the only way we could go was if we  were 100% sure a friend (investigator) was going to be there. So we texted and called and visited like crazy to invite people to come. Unfortunately, there was either no response or they couldn't make it :( So we were kinda big sad. THEN all the sudden we get a text from Peter saying he was at the picnic and he can't find us..... ON OUR WAY PETER! So we zoomed out of the Winco parking lot to meet Peter and the rest of the ward at Cascade park! When we got there he was fully fellowshipped by our amazing ward! He had 2 boys with him and they had already made friends with the other boys in the ward! It was awesome! He even said that he watched church when we sent him the link and wants to come to church in person! We invited him to this week but he didn't end up making it :/

BUT GUESS WHO CAME TO CHURCH..... Elizabeth, Ben, AND DAVID! I was SO happy when they all walked in! I love that family SO much! They stayed for classes and David LOVED primary! We hope to see them all next week with more of the fam!

We also had exchanges with the Mill creek sisters! I went there with sis Janke and we did some door knockin! We just recently got the okay to start tracting and street contacting again so it's still pretty new to us hahah. No success was found but some people were interested in free service. I call that a win.

We also went to a park and started writing scripture verses in chalk on the side walks. This guy named Deleep came and started talking to us and we actually got to share a message with him! He was super cool! He is a yoga instructor so we set up a time that he could teach us meditation and we could teach him the gospel! Too bad I won't actually get to go hahah.

Elder Renlund is coming to speak to our mission on Friday! I'm super hyped! The whole mission will be there! Stay tuned for how that will go!
I hope you all know how important you are to God. You are so needed and so loved. By Him, Jesus, and me :)
Love you all!

Hola Hola!

Another week and another exchange! This week the exchange was with our HERMANAS! We love them! Hermana Barus came to Eastmont with me and Sister Israelsen went to Spanish land! Hermana Barus and I decided to go and knock some less actives doors. On the last door we went to we were looking for Sister Kane but she apparently moved and we met Gabriel and Rebecca! They are so sweet! They are a younger couple that are getting married next week! They are baptists and know a bit about our church and invited us in! We talked with them for a while and set up a time for a bible study! YAY!

On Wednesday we made a bunch of brownies and took them around to all the referrals we had been getting and invited them to our labor day picnic! We took some to Rajan who actually turned out to be a recent convert wondering where his new ward was! He has only been baptized for about a month so we get to teach him the new member lessons woot woot!
We tried stopping by Stephens again but ended up talking to his brother Nik who accidentally locked himself outside lol. We gave him the brownies and invited him to come. He seems nice haha.
Lastly we dropped some off to Peter! We have prayed with him a few times over the phone so this was the first time we met him! He was actually the reason we made brownies because we needed an excuse to see him in person so we texted him and said "We made too many brownies! Would you want some?" 5 minutes later he responded, "Yes please" No one can pass up the brownie offer! So we whipped up a batch of brownies and got to meet him! He is so sweet! We also met the people he is living with and they are super sweet too!
MIRACLE!
We have a friend named Muriel and she is the most adorable thing ever! She loves when we come over and we love her but.....She just isn't progressing. We have invited her to church and activities and she just doesn't come. There's other things too but even our fellowship, who is a good friend of hers, invites her to things and offers rides to church but....nope. HOWEVER yesterday we had a lesson with her and our fellowship was talking about the upcoming conference with Elder Renlund. The crazy thing is Muriel asked when it was so we told her and she put it on her calendar and said she'll try and come. What?? We all about fell off our chairs! Please pray that she will come!
We also got to have a lesson with our friend Zahra and her son Ryan. Everytime we say we are going to pray Ryan stops what he is doing, puts his hands together right by his face, and closes his eyes. It's adorable! We got to teach him about Jesus and tell him how much he loves and cares for him and his mom. Then his attention span was gone and we played tag. It was good tho! haha.
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
Did y'all do Come Follow Me this week? IT WAS FIRE! First of all I LOVE the talk mentioned in it by Elder Christophersen called "As many as I love, I rebuke and Chasten." I encourage all of you to give it a listen! In the talk he talks about how we should pray for his loving chastisement. Sounds crazy at first I know. However, if the Lord didn't love us he wouldn't correct us. He would let us hang out down here, sinning and not growing to our divine potential. BUT HE DOES CARE! He wants to become the best versions of ourselves we can. Oftentimes that means correction. Thankfully, he cares enough to let us have experiences that will let us grow and shape us into who we can become. Try it! Pray for his loving chastening and grow.
Guess what? I love and so does Jesus!
